Daphne, Alabama was first populated around 9,000 BC and incorporated on July 8th, 1927 with a population of only 500 people. The quaint suburb of Daphne has come a long way since its inception. Daphne is now a thriving suburb of Mobile, Alabama, a city just across the bay from Daphne. Daphne has earned the nickname "The Jubilee City", due to a Mobile Bay Jubilee that occurs during the summer months. The only other place in the world where this is known to occur is Tokyo Bay, Japan.
Daphne boasts a warmer climate year round, satisfying locals that enjoy outdoor activities as well as those traveling from more northern regions hoping to get away from the snow for a short season and enjoy weather along the coast.
