Loud Boom In Baldwin County, Alabama

If you woke up early this morning to a loud boom on the Gulf Coast, you were not the only one. You are also not going crazy - as thousands have reported hearing the same noise during the early morning hours of March 12, 2024, but don't worry - you aren't going crazy, there is an explanation.

SpaceX , a startup founded by Elon Musk, had a spacecraft on a return mission from the International Space Station. The SpaceX Dragon Endurance made a splash landing off of the coast of Baldwin County and Pensacola, Florida. The capsule brought back NASA's crew-7 from the Space Station. The capsule could be seen for miles like a bright, starry fireball streaking across the sky. While most of the coast slept through the incident, there are various videos floating around online that show the re-entry from a viewer's perspective.
